At the inaugural Withington Book Festival I talked about the joys and challenges of writing across maps and what belonging really means today.
A golden day in Ambleside - perfect for reflecting on poetic responses to this ‘Cultural Landscape’ on the part of those poets who have been inspired to write about this place via writing residency experiences, including Fleur Adcock and the wonderful @ReshmaRuia 📚🍃
On loss of languages @NamitaGokhale_ “What I truly wish is for India to regain its bilingual & trilingual character. It alarms me that the norm of speaking multiple languages is fading, with many losing their mother tongues in favour of English.”
